We have recently received a number of equities regarding hiring bouncy castles and being setup on artificial grass. Hopefully the information below will answer any questions you may have.
Bounce & Party can setup bouncy castles or inflatable on an artificial grass surface HOWEVER, we are legally required to stake the bouncy castle or inflatable down securely using large metal anchor stakes / pegs. The artificial grass MUST have earth underneath and not a concrete base, otherwise we will not be able to safely setup your bounce castle or inflaitable.
PLEASE NOTE – You will need to give us permission to stake into your artificial grass surface. We will be using large metal anchor stakes that will leave holes in your artificial grass surface and in time may lead to weeds growing through. We will require your written permission to stake into artificial grass surface and accept no liability for any damage incurred.
The short answer is no. Heath & Safety Executive has stated that bouncy castles and inflatables require163kg of weight per anchor point to secure the bouncy castle or inflatable to the ground if not using anchor stakes when outdoors.
This would require 7 sand bags per anchor point, a total of around 56 25kg sand bags, so over a ton in weight! We secure bouncy castles and inflatables down with heavy duty stakes, so ideally we need a grass surface area to set them up on to. However, if you have path area (which is flush to the grass) with grass either side we may be able to setup the bouncy castle or inflatable as long as we can anchor the bouncy castle or inflatable in to the grass surface either side and at the rear and stake down securely.
If you have any questions or would like advice please don't hesitate to contact us.
PLEASE NOTE – We will not put bouncy castles or inflatables on gravel, soil, mud or sand for safety reasons.
