Who is Bounce & Party?
Bounce & Party is owned, managed and operated by Rob, most likely the person you will or did speak to when making a booking. Originally from Brighton, Rob moved to Glasgow in 2005. Rob is 43 years old with 2 daughters and works full time as an audio visual engineer.
Background
At the age of 18 and unsure what to do, college or university wasn't his thing, Rob decided to get a Job at Butlins in Bognor Regis working as a bar man in the Jumping Jaks over 18's venue. Although pulling pints was fun it wasn't what he wanted to spend his life doing.
One night the in house DJ / Host was unable to make it to work, having DJ'ed before as a hobby Rob put himself forward as someone who could cover that night. The night was success and the following morning he was called to the entertainments office and asked if he would like to transfer to the entertainments department and become one of the in house DJ's / Host's, a Redcoat and wear the famous red jacket, this was and opportunity not to turn down.
As well as Dj'ing and hosting in the evening the role of a Redcoat was to keep the children entertained from hosting the Noddy show, presenting & comparing to over 2000 people running activities, and ensuring guests were happy. Rob spent 9 years at Butlins gaining a vast amount of experience in the entertainment industry including the technical side of sound and lighting.
In 2005 Rob decided it was time to move on and decided to move to Glasgow.
How did Bounce & Party Start?
Having looked for something for his daughters 6th birthday party and unable to find
something that was a complete package at a reasonable price Rob decided to do his daughters party himself. Borrowing some speakers, a few lights, hiring a bouncy castle (that had seen better days) and using past experience from his Butlins days, the party mayhem commenced. The party was a huge success and a number of parents requested to book him not knowing that he was the dad of the birthday girl. That evening the family gathered for a few drinks and discussed how the party went, Rob felt that it could have been better, the bouncy castle could have looked better, the setup could have been better, could have done this, could have done that. "Why don't you start hiring bouncy castles" someone said, Bounce & Party was born.
Purchasing three brand new bouncy castles the adventure begun.
Since Bounce & Party was born on the 1st of May 2017 the services we provide have expanded to include what we believe parents are looking for, stress & hassle free children's parties where the parents can intrust someone to organise, run and manage a children's party in a professional way.
In 2018 we purchased a brand new Soft Play Arena. An all in one unit that comprises of a fully matted play area, soft play shapes, a ball pool, bouncy castle and slide.
