03 July 18 - Recent News & Press Reports

Our thoughts and prayers are with the parents of Ava-May, who was so tragically killed at the beach in Norfolk on Sunday, no family should ever have to go through that and it's absolutely heart breaking.

We'd like to take this opportunity to reassure our clients and customers. We're aware of a lot of comments on social media and national news outlets claiming that this was a bouncy castle that exploded due to heat. It has now been proven that this is not the case and the unit was in fact a sealed inflatable trampoline. You will notice a lot of the media have now changed the wording of their articles to state it was an inflatable trampoline and not a bouncy castle.

A sealed inflatable is very different to a bouncy castle which has a constant airflow system, outside air is being constantly pumped into the bouncy castle by a large fan. Bouncy castles are also by design to constantly leak air through the seams of the castle. Therefore making it absolutely impossible to "explode”. A sealed inflatable has air pumped in to it and then the air sealed within the unit.

Bouncy castles are used all over the world in much hotter climates than our current one. Please rest assured if Bouncy castles are tested, set up correctly and ran correctly they are very safe.

Safety has always been our number one priority at Bounce & Party:

  • All of our Bouncy Castles are inspected on setup, annually safety checked, registered with PIPA & Tagged with certificates available on our website. You will also be shown this on the day of hire.
  • All of Our Inflatable meet and exceed BSEN 14960-2006/2015 standards

  • We have completed the, non compulsory RPII (The Register of Play Inspectors International) Accredited Inflatable Operators & Attendants course and passed the end of course exam to prove we are competent in setting up and supervising bouncy castles indoor and outdoor. Our certificate is available on our website and ID card available on site on the day of hire.
  • We have PLI (Public liability insurance) with certificates available on our website. You will also be shown this on the day of hire.
  • We will not set up bouncy castles on unsuitable surfaces, for example tarmac, mono block where we can not sufficiently anchor the bouncy castle to the ground.
  • Safety mats will be used around the entrance of the bouncy castle.
  • We will not operate bouncy castles in unsuitable weather conditions, heavy rain or winds exceeding 24mph.
  • Full guidance and a health & safety briefing will be given to the person supervising the bouncy castle for the duration of hire.
