Planning a children's party can be a daunting experience if you have never done it before but break the party down in to the main elements and you'll wonder what you were worrying about.
Venue
You may think this is the easy part but in fact if your preferred venue is already booked then this could cause a problem. Make sure you book your preferred venue as soon as possible. Make sure you give yourself plenty of time before and after the party to set up and tidy up. On the day of the party arrive at the venue with plenty of time to spare.
Entertainment
Unless you fancy running the party yourself get someone else to do it. Make sure you know what sort of children's party you intend to have and ensure that it will be suitable for the age range of the children attending. Children get bored very quickly so ensure that any chooses entertainment will keep the children entertained for the duration of the party. An entertainer who will provide a good mixture throughout the party will always go down well.
Having a bouncy castle at a party always goes down well with the children but won't keep them entertained for the whole party. Bounce & Party provide a Party Host Package that includes a Bouncy Castle, Music, Party Games and a Party Host. Our party hosts will ensure that your party runs smoothly, is organised and stress free.
Our party host will welcome the children to the party, make them laugh, scream and shout, entertain them (& adults) and run the party games. They will ensure that the children leave the party with smiles on their faces.
Food
One of the biggest mistakes is making too much food. Children never eat a lot at a party, keep it simple. Choose food items that you know will be a hit. Crisps, Sandwiches, Sausage Rolls, Sweets, etc. Just don't forget the Juice.
Cake
Most likely the easiest part of the party unless your planning on making it yourself. Most supermarkets now have a large choice of birthday cakes at reasonable prices and they taste pretty good too.
Invitations
Send your party invitations at least 3 weeks before the party to give your guests plenty of time to make arrangements. Don't forget to include an RSVP so that you have an idea of how many guests to expect on the day.
They should include the following information:
- Your child's name and which birthday they are celebrating.
- The venue address and your phone number.
- The date, start and finish times of the party.
- If you're having a themed party, your invitation should make it clear if the guest needs to dress up.
- You may need a small map if you're inviting children whose parents haven't been to the venue before.
If you are going to provide food at the party it is a good idea to ask on the invitations for the parents to make it clear if their child has any allergies or special dietary requirements.
You can download some free party invitations here, choose from fairies, football, space, animals and lots more ...
Party Bags
Its up to you what you put in them but the costs can mount up, keep it simple. Tesco & Morrisons have a party area with a pick and mix section especially for party bags. Another option thats becoming popular is sweet cones.
On The Day
On the day of the party its a good idea to arrive at the venue in plenty of time. Ensure that you have everything ready to go and that you haven't forgotten anything. Its also a good idea to take some bin bags with you so that you are able to clean as you go.
