09 February 18 - Why can't i hire a bouncy castle for outside in December?

We are often asked to provide bouncy castles for outdoor hires, which usually isn't a problem but would you really want to hire one during the winter?

Unfortunately we don't provide outdoor bouncy castle hire from November to March for a number of reasons and i thought i would explain why.

Weather

Weather can be unpredictable at the best of times but statically its more likely to rain or be windy during the months of November to March. Most people think that rain is the main reason we don't hire out bouncy castles during November to March but its not. The main reason is due to temperature. In cold weather, due to the type of material the bouncy castle is made out of the bouncy castle can become very cold which makes it very uncomfortable and unpleasant for the children. Its unlikely they would stay on the bouncy castle for more than 30 minutes. Add the factor of potential snow and ice and this would make the bouncy castle & the surface around it extremely dangerous.

Our Advice

If your planning a children's party during the months of November to March we would advice that you book a hall. This will have a number of benefits:

  • A warm pleasant environment
  • Less risk of cancellation due to weather
  • A safe contained area

For suggestions on venues take a look at our venues page. There are a number of party packages that we can offer that are suitable for parties within halls. Our Party Host package is perfect for most parties and can take most of the stress away from you.

The hall may ask you to provide public liability insurance, portable appliance test certificates or the bouncy castles test certificate. Don't let this put you off, in fact we welcome it. We have full public liability insurance, all of our electrical equipment has been tested and all of our castles have been safety tested. We can provide documentation before your party and we bring these documents with us on the day.

We are more than happy to offer advice or answer any questions you may have so please feel free to contact us or give us a call on 07949 837 154.
